I know I haven't blogged in quite some time now but Ben and I had such an interesting Saturday that I thought it deserved a blog but instead of telling you I thought I'd show you.

BEN
So in case any of you ladies were wondering, even an emergency does not merit a man leaving the Utah BYU game. Well in case you were wondering what the emergency was, Tate slipped and hit his eye on our unfinished stairs splitting his eyelid open. At first I was totally freaking out because as most of you may know cuts on the face always bleed alot so it was all over his face, hands, and shirt. Once it slowed down I was able to think straight and call Ben. I was hoping Ben would race home to help me and his only son but his reply was "Where are you're mom and dad? Can't they help you? And if you can't get a hold of them I bet Phil and Peggy will help you." It was at this point that I realized that under no circumstances was Ben going to consider leaving that stadium. I was on my own and unbeknownst to Ben he would end up paying for that later. Not that knowing would have changed his mind cause it wouldn't have. Luckily my mom and dad came to my rescue. They took the girls to their house so I could take Tate to the ER. I absolutely hate the ER by the way. We have now had to take each one of our kids their. Does anyone else have this problem? Most of the time your there you wait and wait and then wait some more. Waiting is frustrating enough but then some lady decided that it would be a good idea to blare Boot Scootin Boogie and her MP3 player and sing along. I mean I wasn't a big fan when that came out over ten years ago and I have to tell you it hasn't gotten any better with age. I didn't think it could get much worse and then the next song came on. It was the Boot Scootin Boogie again but this time it was the Chipmunk rendition, I kid you not. I'm pretty sure they came up with an invention called earphones in case of instances where you are in a room full of people who all have different music preferences. I mean people are already irritated by being there. Don't add fuel to the fire. When we finally got in we didn't see the doctor forever and then they had to put some numbing medication on it so they wrapped his head with gauze and he couldn't even see. He finally calmed down and fell asleep and then we had to wake him up to get the actual numbing medication. I guess the first is to try to take the edge off of getting the second and here is why. They had to wrap him up like a burrito and then have three of us restrain him to get this done. She took a needle and had to shoot the medicine directly into the wound. To say Tate flipped out is a complete understatement and it did look very painful. Then they cleaned it out and I was finally able to see how deep it was. The actual stitching part was not pleasant either. I mean trying to hold a kid down while he is watching a needle coming at his eye is not easy. The doctor said he has had to get two tetnus shots lately from nurses not being able to hold the kid still. I think I would have been crying if it was one of my girls but Tate was pissed off instead of distraught like they would have been. I actually almost started laughing at one point. He kept yelling,"I'm done. I'm done." He ended up getting four stitches and now thinks it is pretty cool that is until Saturday when we have to go back to take them out. Ben is going to be the lucky one for that task. Just some of the payback coming his way. One of the hardest things about all this was I was trying to get prepared for my first Thanksgiving dinner I was doing for my family on Sunday. It ended up going pretty well though thanks to my moms help. Sorry about all my ranting and raving. If you actually make it to the end of this I applaud you. Here is the end result of the day.

Disneyworld Trip Day 1
Day one is actually day two. The first day was spent traveling and was so awful that I decided it doesn't count as part of our trip. Tate was pretty much as bad as we suspected. He actually lost his voice from screaming so much and we have decided he will probably be an endurance runner cause anyone that can kick their legs continuously that long would have to be. So the actual day one was spent at the Magic Kingdom, of course, because they had to see Mickey immediately. I never went as a little kid so it was fun to see all the characters and ride the kid rides and see their reactions to all of it. Tate was still a little cranky from the day before but Ben decided Tate would have fun whether he wanted to or not. So Ben carried him everywhere and was probably kicked in the nuts at least twenty times so we're probably done having kids now. Overall it was a pretty good day except for the heat. It was soooooo hot and the humidity is killer. Here is a few highlights from the day.
Besides meeting Mickey and Minnie, Chip and Dale were the ones they were most excited to see that day.
The girls were totally amazed at being able to see Minnie and Mickey's actual houses. Everytime we went by Tia would yell Mickey house.
This picture totally cracks me up. I love the look of terror on Tates face. This is on the Snow White ride and all my kids decided it was the scariest ride in the park. Who would have thought?
This is Kennedy on the Snow White ride. She kept putting her hands over her eyes and then peeking through. After this ride, we went on the Peter Pan ride and she asked me if she had to hold onto the bar and I said no and she immediately covered her eyes and would not look the entire ride. On a different day we went back and she liked it but after Snow White I guess she wasn't going to take any chances.
Us in the Swiss Robinson Tree. We caught Tate for a second for the pic but he was running through that thing at warp speed. The Minnie mouse ears were actually for the girls but of course after awhile Kennedy didn't want to wear them so either I hold them or wear them. I wore them and I think I look pretty great as Minnie.
This is us trying to get a picture in front of the castle and this was the best we could do. Tate is screaming and Tia is running away. People were waiting to pass while we were trying to get this pic and finally I yelled at my dad,"Just take it" and this is the result.
Kennedy and Ben got as spinning pretty good. Tia kept trying to help but she was so dizzy that when she tried to grab the handle she kept missing. It was pretty funny.
Stay tuned for day two of the trip.

Grandkid Pics
My mom has wanted me to take pictures of her grandkids for quite some time and I finally did. I was procrastinating because I knew it wouldn't be pleasant and Oh was I right. Everything would have gone really smoothly if not for the one grandson. Tate was flipping out the whole time. I could not get him in any pictures with the girls. He was tired, hungry, and just wanted to play on the toys. Afterward we went to eat and Tate layed on the floor kicking and screaming until our food got there. At that point I had just completely given up and that is the precise reason we don't have family pics. Well here are a few of the pics. Notice how I got alot with Tate all by himself.

Kennedy's First Week of School
Well Kennedy is extremely excited to be back at school. She loves to learn and thinks her new class is great and since it changed my commute from 20 minutes to 2 minutes I think it is pretty great too. She asked me if it was alright if she went to school everyday and I informed her that preschool is only two days a week and she will have to wait until kindergarten to go everyday. There are eleven kids in her class and I believe that they all will go to South Weber Elementary so it is good that she will know a few kids ahead of time. Not that I think she will have a hard time making friends. She is our little social butterfly so I know she'll be fine. Here are a few moments from her first week.
Tia kept wanting to get in all the pictures with Kennedy. She always wants to do whatever her big sis Kitty is.
On Thursday Kennedy had show and tell and she decided to bring the countdown to Disneyworld chain. We made it together and she couldn't wait to show everyone how close it was until she went. She is pretty excited if you can't tell and if you were wondering it's down to 4 more days now. Woohoo!
Thursday we had Lauren and Maggie over to play and have lunch before preschool. The girls had alot of fun and were so cute together. I decided I just had to get a snapshot of them together.

Happy Birthday Scott & Sydney...Happy Birthday To You
My brother Scott and his wife Sydney share the same birthday so my mom decided to throw them a surprise birthday party at Cherry Hill except it wasn't much of a surprise because my mom left the evidence on the computer and Scott was the next to use the computer. Oh well good intentions right. Well it was alot of fun and my kids absolutely loved it. Kennedy kept asking when we could come again and we hadn't even left. My mom sure knows how to throw a bash. She even got a pinata which Ben of course broke before anyone could take a swing at it. Go Ben! Well since he broke it, we decided that his punishment should be holding the pinata while everyone swung. Seems fitting right. I said all in all it was a success. I mean we only lost Tate once so that a great feat right there. Here are some of the great pics.

Isn't It Great Being A Kid
Being a kid is so great although they don't appreciate it now. Kids get such great pleasure out of the small things in life which we should probably take a lesson from. Putting a in ground trampoline in our backyard was one of smartest moves we've made. It is the one thing my kids use everyday. One of their favorite things is when Ben bounces them. They make him do it until he is ready to pass out. This particular day Lauren and Reese came over to join them. It was so fun to watch them and hear them giggle. Little moments like these remind you that your children are happy and that makes me happy. It isn't a big birthday party or vacation but I think these moments are just as important for your kids to see as the big ones. Here are some of the pics. If it looks like fun and you would like to give it a try, come on over I'm sure Ben would bounce you.

Wedding Week
So last week was a little crazy because of Kyle and Sherl Lynn's wedding but everything went really well. We had something going every night of the week but Wednesday. Monday was the bachelor party where they went paintballing. Ben came home covered in welts and sore from head to toe saying he had a blast. Sometimes I just do not understand men. Covered in bruises from head to toe is not my idea of fun. Tuesday I took Sherl Lynn's bridals. I know a little last minute but we took them edited them and got them printed all in the same day. How is that for efficient and they turned out great. Thursday was their reception in Ben's mom's backyard and it was alot of fun. They just had it casual which was a nice change and they rented a big inflatable toy for the kids and a cotton candy machine as well. Although I do have to say the lime flavor was not my favorite. Sour and cotton candy just do not go together for me. Friday was the actual wedding up at Snow Basin and it was beautiful plus they had one of the cutest flower girls ever. If you are thinking that Kennedy has been a flower girl alot lately you would be right. This was her 4th time in a little over a year so she is a total professional now so I am thinking of hiring her out so if you know anyone that needs one have them give me a call. The kids highlight of the wedding though would have to be the elevator which they continuously rode up and down. I also taught them how to jump up and get a little rush when you hit the right floor which probably wasn't a good idea cause then they just wanted to ride it more. Oh well kids will be kids and who am I to stop them. So here are some picture highlights from the week. I don't have any from the bachelor party so if someone else does send them my way.
These are some of my favorites
The inflatable toy they rented sure kept my kids occupied thank goodness
Kennedy performing her flower girl duties
We dressed Tia as a flower girl too so she wouldn't throw a fit.
She wanted a pretty dress and her hair done too.
Looking at this picture you would think Mairyn and Kennedy were sisters
and not Tia and Kennedy.
Don't my kids just looked thrilled to be there and I would have been extremely annoyed with Kennedy's pouting if she hadn't looked so cute doing it.
After a long days work who doesn't need a good drink.
